  I've been around boats and the boating industry my whole life. I learned how to water ski at age 10, and in 1977 at age 14 was kicked off of the Chicago river by the Cops in an old row boat that me and my friends found abandoned that day downtown. How ironic it is that I'm still the abandoned boat guy. I specialize in all aspects of the abandoned boat business.

​Jumping ahead, working as an apprentice mechanic for the Chicago Sun-Times truck fleet while attending Washburne 

trade school In the 90's, giving me the experience needed to work as a boat mechanic on the Chain O' Lakes and I started buying boats from Marinas, fixing them up, titling them, part them out, or trading them for everything under the sun.

Jump ahead once more, I also started getting interested in law when I worked as a consumer advocate for the Illinois  Attorney General, was a paralegal for a federal criminal attorney for a couple of years and also studied Maritime law. 

               

                     In 2006 abandonboats.com was born and had pleased many clients until the covid pandemic in 2020

● 400 + individual complete vessels were personally sold through a well established process.
● Vessels were abandoned storage boats and were converted into US documented or state titled vessels.
●  Personally photographed and loaded at least 20 photos of each vessel and listed them on social media such as E bay, Craigslist and my own website. That's over 8000 photos! 
● 75% of these vessels were brought back to life in our shop, on site, or relocated to off site storage.
● Created a very effective sales strategy from the time of contact with a potential buyer, until the completed and delivered vessel was handed over to the new owner nationwide.

Today, my main focus is covering the paralegal duties related to State and Maritime Law and consulting in the legal possession, auction, liquidation, sale and/or demolition of abandoned boats, yachts and commercial marine vessels in large quantities for yacht yards, boat yards and harbors in order to liquidate non performing assets.
